Ever felt limited by a big life decision?
“I know I’ve got to make a choice… but none of my choices feel right.”
Well, sometimes the best first step you can take… is no decision at all
…it’s to “HALT.”
How does that make any sense??
H.A.L.T stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, and Tired.
Great decisions are almost never made from poor states of mind.
If you’re feeling hungry, angry, lonely or tired (or even one of their cousins… anxious, “less than”, frazzled, disappointed…)
…now’s not the time for decision making, now is the time for some self love and care.
Think of it like a painter …
We sit down at our empty canvas ready to paint the picture of our future …
…and without really noticing it, anger has changed all the paints to red .
As much as we try to paint a beautiful picture of the future, painting from that state can look like red is the only way ahead.
Halt for a bit… take notice of how you feel.
Take the time to work through that feeling first, then once you have the full pallet of colors again you can start painting the picture of your new decision.
And how do you move through those pesky “halt” feelings, you ask? Here are some resources that can help.
Of course, working with a great coach can be a wonderful way to start…
…once you’re Mindful, Optimistic, Vitalized, and Energized… you can look ahead and “MOVE” forward with your decision making!
